Evidence Based Mental Health Treatment

As a licensed therapist with a PhD in counseling psychology, I provide personalized care tailored to each client’s goals and values. My extensive experience treating chronic and serious mental illness informs a practice rooted in dignity, respect, and the firm belief that recovery is possible for everyone.

Evidence-Based Therapy Delivered with Compassion.

I specialize in the evidence based treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and substance use. In my practice, I am honored to witness my clients act with bravery to shift unhelpful patterns, increase their self-compassion, and let go of habits that no longer serve them. You may be wanting to make changes, get unstuck, deepen your relationships, or find meaning in your career. I can help you achieve these goals by developing awareness of, and making thoughtful changes to, your patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting.

It is hard work for you to reach out for help and to make changes, and I will respect that hard work by tailoring evidence based treatments to help you. I use a humanistic approach to meet clients where they are at, and adapt cognitive behavioral and mindfulness therapies to assist clients in making empowered changes in their lives.

My Research:
I care about social justice and have done research on the impact of sexual harassment and homophobia.

Clinical Approach:
My clinical foundation was built during my doctorate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and refined through specialized fellowships at the New Mexico VA and Minneapolis VA. Beyond clinical symptoms, I am deeply committed to social justice. Whether through my research on harassment or my experience as a Clinical Director for veterans’ programs, I’ve learned that your identity and cultural context are central to your healing. In our work together, we will explore how who you are impacts your needs and your path forward.

I founded this practice so I could use these specialized skills to help you directly, focusing my time on tailoring evidence-based treatments if you are in search of help with getting unstuck from the problems in your life. I care about working with you to make empowered changes, and I am truly honored to witness the bravery it takes to shift unhelpful patterns, increase self-compassion, and let go of habits that no longer serve you.

To ensure you receive the highest quality of care, I am committed to ongoing learning through continuing education, reading the latest research, and from my clients themselves. I provide individual therapy that is uniquely tailored to your specific goals and values. Given my extensive training with chronic mental health issues, I know that recovery is possible and that everyone deserves dignity and respect in their care. When appropriate, I utilize measurement-based care to monitor your progress; this ensures that if you aren’t experiencing relief, we can shift our approach quickly to get you back on track.
